Dear Parents! Summer holidays is the prime time not only to build close family relationships but also to keep children’s learning ticking-over. It is a very important time to reinforce all the skills which they have learned during academic year to strengthen their concepts more. It’s also important because when they return back to schools after this joyful time their progress has really slipped at the beginning of the new year’s educational journey.
MAKE LEARNING A FUN!
Over the six to eight weeks of the summer holidays, children quickly forget a lot of what they learnt the year before. When they return after summer holidays dip is always noticed in all pupils who have not read over the summer. Their fluency, expression, ability to notice punctuation as they scan ahead and, most importantly their decoding skills, are not where they were at the end of the last term.However, just half an hour of school-related work a day can make all the difference. As younger children are not old enough to make the link,therefore, just make it into a regular part of their routine, 1st thing in the day is a right solution.
